First Fully-Electric Wagoneer Arrives in September

Powering the 2024 Wagoneer S EV

The Wagoneer S features a pair of electric motors, one atop the front and rear axles. A 100.5-kWh lithium-ion battery pack powers the motors. Jeep claims the battery pack will charge from 20 to 80 percent in about 23 minutes using a Level 3 DC fast charger. The 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S is a heavy vehicle, so even though it has the large battery pack, the range is expected to be about 300 miles on a full change.

The Wagoneer S’s STLA Large platform with all-wheel drive delivers an impressive 617 lb-ft of torque. This zippy battery-electric vehicle has a zero-to-60 time of 3.4 seconds and has 600 horsepower.

While the EV is more of a daily driver than an off-road master, it will have Jeep’s Selec Terrain Traction Management system and several drive modes: Auto, Sport, Sand, Snow, and ECO. Drivers select the mode with a dial in the center console.

What’s Inside the Wagonner S

The first trim is the Launch Edition, which will be well-equipped in typical Wagoneer style. Overall, the EV is smaller than the Jeep Grand Cherokee, but larger than the Jeep Wrangler. It sits midsize-compact SUV with two rows and seating for five.

On the outside, the Wagoneer S has the iconic seven-slot grille, but this one features lights rather than air intakes. The 0.29 drag coefficient features a sharp angle on the liftgate and a rounded spoiler along the roof.

It’s easy to see how the new model reflects the styling in the full-size Grand Wagoneer, with the premium steering wheel and class-leading 45 inches of display screens. Even the front passenger gets a screen to control music and navigation.

Along with the impressive power and performance, the first trim – the Launch Edition – will come loaded with luxury features. It will have a McIntosh audio system, heated and cooled front and rear seats, ambient lighting, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, and a head-up display. Drivers can add the optional red leather interior or stick with the attractive standard black leather.
